AgeWell Services is calling on the community to help Bridge the Gap for hundreds of older adults in Oceana, Muskegon and Ottawa counties. The need for support has never been greater as AgeWell Services faces increasing demand for its programs while grappling with reduced federal funding, the loss of pandemic relief funds, and rising operational costs due to inflation.
Over the last decade, the number of adults aged 60 and older in West Michigan has surged by 19% over the last 10 years, with Michigan now ranking 14th in the nation for its population of seniors. Despite careful planning for this growth over the last 16 years, the unexpected challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic revealed an even more urgent need for programs provided by AgeWell Services.
