Thanks to funding through Senior Resources of West Michigan from the Muskegon County Senior Millage, we are able to provide various activities throughout Muskegon County. While there is no cost to participants, donations are always accepted. Below is a list of community-wide events, as well as events specific to each of our Lunch & Activity Centers and Partner Locations. Community Activities

Senior Water Fitness Classes

Tuesday’s & Thursday’s from 2:00-3:00 pm at MCC Lakeshore Fitness Center (the old YMCA in Downtown Muskegon)
Join us at MCC Lakeshore Fitness Center for these senior water fitness classes. Lots of variety and fun in the shallow end. Improve cardio, muscular strength and conditioning. No swimming ability is required for this class. ADA compliant pool lift is available. While there is no cost to participants, donations are always accepted.

Tai Chi for Seniors in Whitehall at White Lake Area Community Education

*New class starts on Thursday March 19! Intro to Tai Chi for Seniors from March 19 – May 28 from 11:45 am – 12:35 pm

*Current session is full. Intro to Tai Chi for Seniors from 10:45-11:30 am
Join Jane Wright, Arthritis Association certified Tai Chi instructor, for this new class designed to move participants thoroughly through the process of learning the basic principles of Tai Chi. This class is easy, enjoyable and safe for people with arthritis. It is evidence-based and effective at preventing falls. In addition, this class can improve muscle strength, flexibility and fitness, with additional benefits of improving relaxation, vitality, posture and immunity. While there is no cost to participants, donations are always accepted.

Stretch & Move at Holton Branch Library

*New class starts on Friday March 20 at 1:00 pm

Learn chair exercises that have been researched and designed by specialists to help you age gracefully. This class is designed for older adults, particularly those who have balance issues, physical limitations or chronic conditions such as arthritis & osteoporosis. The instructor, Gayle, is trained through the Arthritis Association to lead exercises also approved by the Arthritis Association. While there is no cost to participants, donations are always accepted.

*New class starts on Friday March 20 at 3:00 pm
