Parties in the Park has been a summer tradition in Muskegon for over 35 years. AgeWell Services is ecstatic to be selected to host a party Friday, July 22, 2022, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Hackley Park in downtown Muskegon. Parties have a family-friendly atmosphere, and admission is free. Rain or shine.
Hackley Park is located between Clay and West Webster avenues and Third and Fourth streets. The park is wheelchair accessible, but there is significant grass so plan accordingly. Bring a chair if you’d like to be seated to enjoy the entertainment.
Our party brings live music, beverage tents, local food vendors and a kid’s zone. The bands are county music artist Hannah Ellis and the brother-sister duo Upcoast Kin.
We need 60 to 100 volunteers to host our party. We have two shifts: 4:45 p.m. to 7 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. to 9 p.m. Jobs include set-up, ID checker, ticket seller, rover ticket seller, water seller, craft beverage station server, beer and wine station server and kid’s zone helper. Volunteers also are needed for setup beginning at 1 p.m. and tear-down from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. If you are unable to stand for long periods of time, we have a few stationary volunteer positions.

Bring your ID to be banded to consume any adult beverages. Food vendors supply a variety of non-alcoholic beverages, and water is available for purchase. Domestic beer is $4; craft beers, specialty beverages and wine are $6. Water is $1. All beverages are discounted $1 during happy hour from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Nonprofit organizations go through a competitive application process to earn a chance to host a Parties in the Park event. The organizations coordinate the parties and receive event proceeds. AgeWell Services’ goal is to raise $10,000 to support aging adults in our 7 programs:
- Meals on Wheels home delivered meals
- Lunch & Activity Centers
- Discount Dining
- Wellness Programs
- Driftwood Café at Tanglewood Park
- Senior Medical Transportation
- SafeSeniors.
