DTE Energy Grant to Provide Holiday Meals for Seniors for 6th Year

Area adults over the age of 60 are invited to a free holiday meal on Thursday, December 15th, thanks to a grant from the DTE Energy Foundation. The $20,000 grant was awarded to Senior Resources to support AgeWell Services’ Meals on Wheels and Meal Site programs. The grant will help provide 2,700 Holiday Meals for seniors in Oceana, Muskegon and Ottawa counties.  This is the sixth year that the DTE Energy Foundation has granted the funds for the holiday meal.

Tanglewood Park Café will be serving the holiday meal on Thursday, December 15 from noon to 6 p.m. at 560 Seminole Rd. in Muskegon. Reservations (by Thursday, December 8) are requiredfor this meal and can be made by calling 1-877-211-5253, 231-733-1155 or dialing 2-1-1 between Monday,November 14–Thursday, December 8 from 9 a.m.–3 p.m. Space is limited.  

Nutritious holiday meals will be served to Meals on Wheels participants and to seniors at AgeWell Services’ meal sites throughout Oceana, Muskegon and Ottawa counties on Thursday, December 15th as well. To find a location nearest you, visit www.agewellservices.org or call 1-877-211-5253.

The menu for the day will be Rosemary Roasted Pork, Red Skin Smashed Potatoes & Gravy, Almond Green Beans, Garden Salad with dressing,Dinner Roll, and Cheesecake with Cherry Topping.

DTE Energy employees and some of their family members will also be volunteering to help prepare and serve the meals.
