AgeWell Services Executive Director Sharon TerHaar will be retiring after 34 years of service at the agency. Her retirement is effective September 30, 2015, and she will serve as a consultant to AgeWell Services through the next few months.

AgeWell Services of West Michigan, recently hired Kris Collee as the agency’s new executive director. She will be replacing long-time director Sharon TerHaar as she is retiring later this month after 34 years of service.

AgeWell Services Offers Free Fitness Class for Seniors

AgeWell Services, the Arthritis Foundation and the Loutit District Library are teaming up to offer Stretch ‘N More, a free fitness class for seniors in West Michigan. Starting July 20, 2015 the class will be held every Monday and Friday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. for 6 weeks at the Loutit District Library, 407 Columbus Avenue, Grand Haven.

Free Summer Series for Seniors

Area experts will conduct FREE summer seminars for seniors about various topics including wills & legal issues and concerns, to scams, managing depression, guardian support, and more. The seminars will be held at Tanglewood Park, 560 Seminole Road in Muskegon from 9:30-10:30 a.m. and includes free refreshments and prizes.

Clinical Interventions for Hoarding Disorder

Tri-County Protection Team and AgeWell Services are hosting a clinical intervention workshop for hoarding disorder on May 29, 2015 from 9:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m. at the Folkert Community Hub, 640 Seminole Road in Norton Shores. Laura M. Lokers from the Anxiety Disorders Program in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Michigan will be presenting at the workshop.
